The Quilt Project examines the word community by interviewing organic farmers around the globe. Food is an inherent part of all our lives, and whether we acknowledge it or not, the food produced by our world’s farmers make it possible for us to flourish and create all of the other unique communities of which we are a part. As the world is growing increasingly global, and words like sustainability and local are used in abundance, it is important for us to remind ourselves of our roots, to ask ourselves, “What is local?” and ultimately “What does community mean to me?”
